Browsers

That's the correct answer, so luckily the presentation can now continue. In the history of the development of the World Wide Web, created in 1991, there are several interesting things that stand out as particularly relevant and intriguing. One which is mentioned in Wikipedia's article about the history of the World Wide Web is the development of browsers. Two of the first big browsers, Mosaic and Netscape, both share common characteristics such as blocky buttons and a very basic user interface. They are both well in the past, however, as the Netscape web site indicates that support for the browser and related products officially ended in 2008. The web can now be browsed through much more exciting technologies, and the home page banners for some of today's biggest browsers indicate their futuristic, forward-looking nature. Opera invites users to "imagine tomorrow," Safari touts itself as the "world's best browser," and Safari wants users to "see the web in a whole new way." In contrast to this, Chrome's homepage is not flashy, and though it advertises "lightning speed," it doesn't appeal in nearly the same way. What makes Chrome popular is that it comes from Google, which is making waves in a number of ways that we'll return to later.

The next question, to move on - where was the first web site built?

a) BERN
b) CERN
c) LERN
d) STERN
